“I am a documentarian, documenting true visual happenings however possible. I love the lines in this image, from the strange shape of his body to the bars that he walks upon. In sports or dance, perfectly completed moves are what is usually documented. I am drawn to the un-perfect people struggling to balance; falls; how the body instinctually tries to save itself from injury, and the gyrations that it goes through to do so. This was a parkour exhibition in Copenhagen that I randomly encountered. I love when a picture is timeless; this image could be from the 30s or yesterday. He is part of the clouds and appears to be ready for flight.”
